Louis Timothy Jay was born November 6, 1957 in Tulsa, OK, one of six children born to Lenora Mae (Eslick) and Louie Ray Jay. He married the former Lena Mae Gray on March 1, 1980, and they began a long and happy life together in a marriage that lasted forty-two years. They just repeated their vows in March of this year. One son, Timothy Louis Jay was born to this union.
Before retirement Tim, as Lena fondly called him, was employed by the Tulsa Public School system as a building and grounds custodial supervisor. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. One might say he was a country boy at heart living in the city.
Tim departed this life on Sunday, May 29, 2022 in Tulsa, OK at the age of 64 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Louie and Lenora Jay; a brother, Lawrence Eugene Jay; sisters, Latricia Diane Simmons, Louetta Fay Hicks and Lanitta Fay Messer; brother-in-law, Terry Jimmy Hicks and nephew, Danny Ray Simmons.
Survivors include his loving wife, Lena Mae Jay and son, Timothy Louis Jay, both of Tulsa, OK; a sister, and brother-in-law, Laronda Mae and Jackie Kennemer of Sand Springs, OK; sister-in-law, Virginia Whitehead; brother-in-law, Odie Messer; a number of nieces, including Amanda Bradbury, Elizabeth Whitehead, Melissa Wilson and husband, Clint, Tammy Collins and husband, Dale and Christina Berry; a number of nephews, including Benjamin Gray, Scott Whitehead, Anthony Jay, Jimmy Hicks and Takota Messer; great-nieces, Lauren Bradbury and Betty Bradbury; great-nephew, Jace Wilson; other extended family and friends.
A Visitation will be held from 5-7 pm Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at Mallett Funeral Home and Crematory in Wagoner.
The Funeral Service will be at 2 pm Thursday, June 2, 2022 in the Chapel at Mallett Funeral Home in Wagoner, OK. Reverend Tim Watkins will officiate.
Interment will be in Bennett Addition of Elmwood Cemetery in Wagoner. Pallbearers will be Odie Messer, Takota Messer, Jimmy Hicks, John Bradbury, David Bryan, Matthew Nunn and Dale Collins.
