Louise Leonabeth McConnell was born December 7, 1934 in Vian, Oklahoma, the second to last of nine children born to Ed and Daisy (Jackson) Twist. Louise married James Loyd McConnell on August 11, 1951, and they shared their life together of more than 68 years. They made their home in Broken Arrow, OK for many years and moved to the Toppers area in Wagoner in 1986. She was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy in Wagoner, OK.
For many years Louise worked at Oral Roberts ministries, responding to prayer requests sent by mail, and later began a new career building PC boards. She sold Avon for a while.
Louise was foremost a mother and took on that role to nearly everyone she knew. She and James were blessed with three daughters and later were blessed again when they adopted four more children.
In her spare time Louise enjoyed TOPS, the Red Hat Club and shopping.
Louise departed this life Friday morning, February 21, 2020 in Wagoner, OK at the age of 85 years. She was preceded in death by her parents and all of her brothers and sisters, including Onaway, Dorothy, Ellen, Freda, Nellie, Edward, Verl and Charles.
Survivors include her loving husband, James Loyd McConnell of Wagoner, OK; seven children, Sherry Brewer and husband, Donnie of Owasso, OK, Paula Stice of Wagoner, OK, Angela Reed and husband, Michael of Stillwater, OK, Alexandria Davis of Wagoner, OK, Andy McConnell of Wagoner, OK, Nikole Brown and husband, Mark of Wagoner, OK and Bradley McConnell of Tulsa, OK; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and extended family and friends.
A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, February 28, 2020 in the Chapel at Mallett Funeral Home and Crematory in Wagoner. The Reverend Wesley Graver will officiate.
Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery in Wagoner with family members serving as pallbearers.
