Lucille Robbins Britt was born September 9, 1928 in Cherokee County, Oklahoma, to Eli and Ola (Beaver) Robbins. She attended school at Sequoyah. At age 21 she was married to Benjamin Lee Britt Sr. on July 11, 1950. They made their home in Wagoner and enjoyed a long and happy life together for nearly sixty-one years before his death on February 11 of this year. Lucille was a dedicated housewife and mother and a member of the Cherokee Nation and the Elm Tree Baptist Church in Tahlequah, OK. Lucille passed away on Sunday, May 8, 2011 in Muskogee, OK at the age of 82 years, 7 months and 29 days. She was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Lee Britt Sr., two infant sons, four brothers, Jess, George, Charles and Albert, and one sister, Lillian. She is survived by two sons, Benjamin Lee Britt, Jr., and his wife, Amber, of Wagoner and Ron L. Britt and his wife, Rhonda, of Chelsea, OK; grandchildren, Justin, Madison, Erin, Adam and Dallas; a sister, Nancy Warren; numerous nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at Mallett Funeral Home Chapel in Wagoner with the Reverend D.J. McCarter officiating. Family will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Jay Parker, Christopher Parker, Bobby Warren and Jamie Warren. Interment will be in Pioneer Cemetery in Wagoner, OK.
