Luis Armando Borja Vazquez was born October 26, 1943 in Irapuato, Mexico to Antonio and Delfina (Vazquez) Borja. Before retirement Luis was employed by Capital Investments in Tulsa, OK as an apartment building manager. He previously served as an interpreter at the Federal Building in Muskogee, OK.

On March 29, 1982 Luis married the former Bernice Applegate in Fayetteville, Arkansas. They shared a loving marriage for thirty-eight years.

Luis departed this life Tuesday morning, May 26, 2020 at his home in Wagoner, Oklahoma at the age of 76 years. He was preceded in death by his parents; a special son, Bobby Applegate; granddaughter, Amanda Borja; and siblings, Tony, Mike, Lucrecia, and Lourdez (Mary Lou).

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Bernice Borja of the home; two sons, Armando Borja of Wagoner, OK and Joshua Borja and his wife, Ashlynn of Wagoner, OK; step-son, Rodney Rodriguez of Claremore, OK; daughters, Gina Maxwell and husband, Boyd of Tulsa, OK, Griselda "Chris" Briggs and husband, Mel of Owasso, OK Ami Williams of Tulsa, OK and Vanesa "Alex" Berry and husband, Steven of Tulsa, OK; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Dylan, Hannah, Kialee, Ryalynn, Marina, Kaitlyn, Ashley, Hailey, Leo, Raysha, Tiffany, Jessie, Madison, Preston and Micah; many great-grandchildren; siblings, Julio Borja, Dora Magana, Ruth Borja, Betty Martin, Sandra Diaz, Irma Marley and Letica Borja; many nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.

A memorial service to celebrate Luis' life will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, May 29, 2020 in the Chapel at Mallett Funeral Home and Crematory, Wagoner, OK. Eulogists will be Armando Borja and Joshua Borja.
