Funeral services for Mae Willodean Steen, 82 of Hulbert will be at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, May 2 at the Mallett Funeral Home Chapel in Wagoner with the Reverend Manford Crawley officiating. Willodean was born October 11, 1930 in Prue, Oklahoma to her parents, Horace and Irene (Webb) McElroy. When she was young, her family moved to the Harrison, Ark. area where Willodean grew up and attended school. In 1949, she was united in marriage to Vanzo Steen. They lived in the Broken Arrow for 27 years until his retirement when they moved to the Hulbert area. Willodean was a homemaker and helped her son, Mike in the Wood Yard'. She passed away Sunday April 28, 2013 at St. John Medical Center in Tulsa. Willodean was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 45 years, Vanzo Steen; her brothers, Richard, Jesse and Andy McElroy and by her sister, Sandra Parnell. She is survived by her son, Mike Steen of Hulbert; six brothers, Joe, Zeb, Gene, Fred, Jim and Ted McElroy; two sisters, Juanita Henson and Darlene Moore; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. Pallbearers for Mrs. Steen will be Teddy McElroy, Robert McElroy, Donald Burnett, Ralph Burnett, David Burnett and Billy Gibson. Honorary pallbearers will be Chris Craig and Rowdy Willis. Funeral arrangements and interment in Pioneer Cemetery in Wagoner are directed by Mallett Funeral Home of Wagoner.
