Obituary

Marian Jeanne McCuan Cannon was born February 16, 1934 in Gibson Station, OK to Roy O. and Lula Edith (Akin) McCuan. After graduating from Wagoner High School in 1952 Jeanne attended Draughns Jr. College.

Jeanne married Charles Leon Cannon on July 25, 1954 and shared a life together for 63 years until his death. They were blessed with three children, Chuck, Gala and Michael.

Jeanne was a dedicated member of First Assembly of God Church and played the church organ for many years. She dearly loved her church family.

Jeanne's family remembers how great a cook she was and how much she loved sweets. She was known to eat part of the icing from a slice of cake before serving it to Charles.

She was a woman who found happiness and contentment in life wherever she was. In later years, when Jeanne made her home at Dogwood Creek Retirement Center, she found many friends whose company she enjoyed, and they in turn loved the way she would play the piano for them every day.

Jeanne departed this life to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 4, 2022 in Muskogee, OK at the age of 88 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Cannon; her parents, Roy and Lula McCuan; a son, Michael Cannon; her daughter, Gala Watkins; daughter-in-law, Teresa Cannon; grandson-in-law, David Kindell and her brother, Gerald McCuan.

Left to cherish her memory are her son, Chuck Cannon; her son-in-law, Danny Watkins; grandchildren, Michelle Appleton and husband, Kirk, Katrena Kindell, Dustin Watkins, Melody Cannon and Cody Cannon; great-grandchildren, Maci Millard, Trent Appleton, Bryce Kindell, Brent Appleton and Gatlyn Appleton; one great great-granddaughter, Journi Jean; other extended family and friends.

A Visitation will be held from 6-8 pm Tuesday at Mallett Funeral Home and Crematory in Wagoner, OK.

The Graveside Funeral Service to celebrate Jeanne's life will be at 11 am Wednesday, May 11, 2022 in Pioneer Cemetery in Wagoner, OK, where she will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband, Charles.
