Marian Jean (Manes) Pelt was born on October 20, 1930, to Marshall Columbus Manes and Monie Modena (Smith) Manes in Gideon, Oklahoma. She graduated from Okmulgee High School. She met Thurman Pelt, and soon after, she fell in love with him. They married on September 22, 1951, and enjoyed 66 years of happiness together until his passing in 2017.

Marian was a kindhearted, compassionate person. She was a nurturing soul whose love of cooking and baking enriched her family's life, as she prepared three meals a day and delighted them with her pies and candies.  Her passion extended beyond the kitchen; she cherished gardening and had a remarkable talent for tending to her vibrant flower beds, creating a lush oasis that reflected her green thumb.  She enjoyed fishing and loved bird watching.  Her appreciation for nature and animals further highlighted her gentle heart and the joyful, fulfilling life she led among her loved ones.

Marian departed this life on Friday, December 13, 2024, at Saint Simeons Senior Community, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of 94 years.  Preceding her in death are her parents, Marshall and Monie Manes; her husband, Thurman Pelt; siblings, Ruby Boyd, Opaline Collins, Christine Moore, M.C. Manes, and Richard Manes.

Cherishing the many memories of her life include her children, Steve Pelt, and wife Danita of Broken Arrow, OK, Susan Randall, and husband Brad of Tulsa, OK; grandchild, Josh Randall of Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Marian was a cherished Christian woman who brought joy and warmth to her family, creating lasting memories together that they will always hold dear, even as they feel the profound loss of her presence, they will treasure the joyful moments and heartfelt memories shared during her lifetime.

The family will greet friends at a Visitation on Thursday, December 19, 2024, from 10 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.,  in the Chapel of Mallett Funeral Home, Wagoner, OK.

A Celebration of Life, honoring the life of Marian Pelt will be held on Thursday, December 19, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Mallett Funeral Home, Wagoner, OK. Brad Randall will officiate.

Interment will follow at Tahlequah City Cemetery, Tahlequah, Oklahoma.
