Obituary

Marilea (Epperson) Bennett was born on April 1, 1949, to Jack Ellis Epperson and Evelyn June (Posey) Epperson in Muskogee, Oklahoma.  Marilea attended and graduated from Okay High School in 1967.  Marilea attended college at Northeastern State University; graduating with a Bachelors Degree in 1971.  She continued her education pursuing a master's degree, dedicating herself to advanced studies in personal growth in English and Arts.  She married the love of her life, Ivan D Bennett on December 29, 1970.  They were happily married for 53 years.

Marilea was a dedicated teacher at Okay Public Schools, where she found joy in nurturing young minds and sharing her passion for knowledge. Embracing her identity as a homebody, she cherished her time spent at home, engaging in crafts and enjoying the simple pleasures of  life. Her appreciation for the outdoors was evident in her love for watching hummingbirds, and her affection for dogs, particularly Weimaraners, highlighted her gentle spirit. Shopping at Woodland Hills Mall provided her with moments of joy, blending her love for nature and creativity into a fulfilling life.

Marilea departed this life on Sunday, October 20, 2024, at her home in Wagoner, Oklahoma, at the age of 75 years.  Preceding her in death are her grandparents, Richard and Hazel Posey; parents, Jack and Evelyn Epperson; and brother, Jackie Epperson.

Cherishing the many years spent together her husband, Ivan Bennett reflects on the love and companionship shared with Marilea celebrating the milestones and beautiful memories that have woven the fabric of their life together.

The Family will greet friends and relatives at a Visitation on Friday, October 25, 2024, from 5:00pm - 7:00 pm in the Chapel of Mallett Funeral Home and Crematory.

A Funeral Service honoring the Life of Marilea Bennett will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at 10:00 am in the Chapel of Mallett Funeral Home and Crematory.  Officiating will be Life Celebrant Dusty Giles

Interment will follow at Three Rivers Cemetery, Okay, Oklahoma.
