Mark Jeffery Helmer was born October 4, 1964 in Muskogee, OK to Margaret (Ramsey) Fowler and Joe Helmer. He attended Wagoner schools. Mark lived most of his life in Wagoner. Before retiring he was employed at Bush Cannery. Mark loved being with his family, and they fondly remember how he babied' everyone. He loved to go camping and fishing, tinker, and enjoyed eating barbecue and drinking Mountain Dew. He was a collector of anything Harley Davidson. Mark died Wednesday, April 24, 2013 in Tulsa, Ok at the age of 48 years, 6 months and 20 days. He was preceded in death by his mother, Leatha Helmer; two grandmothers; a grandfather; a sister, Michelle; two brothers-in-law, Jared and Mark; several aunts and uncles; and his father-in-law, Harvey. Survivors include his wife, Lesia Helmer of the home; two sons, Micheal Lee Helmer and his wife, Maria, of Iola, Kansas and Jeffery Allen Helmer of Wagoner; six grandchildren, Jeffery, Jr., Eva, Jacob, Brooklyn, Hannah, and Weslee, who Mark called "Duke"; father, Joe Helmer of Wagoner; mother, Margaret Fowler of Cowspen, South Carolina; four sisters, Kay Thompson, Angie Griffin, both of Wagoner, JoAnn Helmer and Renee Daly, both of North Carolina; grandmother, Jayne Jones of Fort Gibson, OK; mother-in-law, Mandy Collins of Wagoner; brothers-in-law and their wives, Charles and Gypsy Collins of Nixa, Missouri, Dale and Tammy Collins, David and Linda Collins, and Clarence and Danyelle Collins, all of Wagoner; two sisters-in-law and their husbands, Carolyn and Will Tygart of Broken Arrow and Bessie and Cory Bloxsom of Wagoner; numerous uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces and cousins; and his friends. A Visitation will be held from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday at Mallett Funeral Home, who is in charge of arrangements. The Funeral service will be Monday, April 29, 2013 at the Church of God of Prophecy in Wagoner, with the Reverend Clay Frost officiating. Interment will be in Bennett Addition of Elmwood Cemetery in Wagoner. Pallbearers will be Jeffery Helmer, David Collins, Cory Bloxsom, Michael Scroggins, Daniel Millard, and Tommy Mullins. Honorary pallbearers will be Eli Jones, Stefon Griffin, Jeffery Helmer Jr., Jacob Helmer and Weslee Andress.
