Mark Baraman Wofford was born July 2, 1963 in Tulsa, OK to Donal Eugene and Betty Louise (Poynor) Wofford. At an early age Mark moved with his family to Wagoner, OK. After graduating from Wagoner High School he attended Northeastern State University. Mark was an active member and contributor to the good of the Wagoner community he always called home. He was the Assistant Fire Chief for the Wagoner Fire Department. He owned and operated the Wagoner Lumber Co. and Ace Hardware for many years. Mark and his wife, Teresa, were members of the Ash Street Baptist Church in Muskogee. Mark departed this life on Saturday, September 27, 2014. He was preceded in death by his father, Donal Wofford, and father-in-law, Dr. Douglas Jester. He is survived by his wife, Teresa Clair Wofford of the home; three daughters, Sally Elaine (Wofford) Moore and her husband, Daniel, Hannah Belle Wofford, and Molly Elizabeth Wofford; by one grandson, Slade Emerson Moore; Mark's mother, Betty Wofford; a brother, Dr. Matt Wofford; a sister, Dr. Dawn Wofford Teel; five nieces and nephews, Savanna, Jared, Tommy, Dane and Matthew; Mark's mother-in-law, Pauline Jester; other relatives; and many friends. All will miss him dearly and will always remember his own unique sense of humor. Many lives were blessed by having known him. The family will be present from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 30 for a Visitation and Viewing at Mallett Funeral Home in Wagoner. A Memorial Service will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday evening at the Performing Arts Center of Wagoner Public Schools. The Reverend Greg Cox will officiate. The Tulsa Fire Department Honor Guard will be present to distinguish Mark's service on the Wagoner Fire Department. Service and cremation arrangements are by Mallett Funeral Home.
