Mary Elizabeth Arnold was born July 15, 1928 in Inola, OK to Earnest James Chanhall and Bernice A. (Green) Chanhall.  Before retirement Mary worked as a key punch operator, first at Tinker Air Force Base and later in the banking field.

Mary and her husband, Cecil B. Arnold, had a good marriage and enjoyed a full and happy life together until his death in 2003. They particularly enjoyed canning the crops they raised in their garden.

Mary was an excellent seamstress and sewed clothing for her daughters. She loved to crochet and knit, and relaxed with puzzles and reading. Even in her later years Mary treasured being able to attend sports activities in which her grandchildren and great-grandchildren participated.

Mary departed this life Sunday, May 23, 2021 at the Garland Road Nursing and Rehab in Enid, OK at the age of 92 years.

She is survived by four children, Jerry Latta, Gayle Whitmore, James Steed and Catherine Lundy; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, including two special granddaughters, Tina Whitley and Marsha Winsor; one brother, Bill Chanhall; nieces and nephews; other extended family and friends.

A graveside memorial service will be held at 9 am Monday, June 7, 2021 in Elmwood Cemetery in Wagoner, OK, where Mary will be laid to rest with her husband, Cecil.
