Mary Ellen Lee was born April 9, 1940 in Cookson, Oklahoma to Lila Jewell (Blair) Cookson and Howard Cookson.

Before retirement Mary was the owner of a bed and breakfast in Baxter Springs, Kansas. She loved doing arts and crafts, attending church and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She gave of her time by volunteering for meals on wheels.

Mary departed this life Thursday evening, December 22, 2022 at the age of 82 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Lila Cookson, her husband, Ronald Lee, a son, David Christopher Lee and a brother, Tommy Dewayne Cookson.

Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Phillip Lee of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Mark Lee and wife, Shannon, of Tulsa, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Victoria Lee, Jamie Brown, Meg Chumley, Brett Lee and Jacob Lee; ten great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and extended family.

The funeral service to celebrate a life well lived will be held at 10 am Wednesday, December 28, 2022 in the Chapel at Mallett Funeral Home in Wagoner, Oklahoma.

Interment will be in Pioneer Cemetery in Wagoner, Oklahoma.
