Mary Marie Muns, 73, of Wagoner, died at her home in the Whitehorn Cove area of Fort Gibson Lake on Friday, July 16, 2010. The graveside funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 20, 2010 at National Cemetery in Fort Gibson, OK. The Reverend Bill Holcomb will officiate. Mary was born February 2, 1937 in Coweta, OK to Henry and Ollie Mae (McFarland) Barok. She lived her early life in Coweta and then moved with her family to the Sand Springs area. Through the years Mary and her husband, Harold, lived in California and numerous locations, but in 1981 they retired and moved to Whitehorn Cove in Wagoner. Mary was employed as a housekeeping supervisor at the Camelot Inn and later at Hillcrest Hospital. Her family fondly remembers her to be one to help anyone and one who always cared for the homeless and hungry. While in the Sand Springs area she fostered more than a hundred children. Mary loved her family with unconditional love. She was a Baptist by faith and loved the Lord and reading, especially her bible. She enjoyed arts and crafts and flower gardening-her favorite flower was the rose. She loved to cook and teach others to cook. Mary Muns is survived by her children and their spouses, Lonnie Dale Godfrey of Rocky Point, Patricia Elaine Ammos and husband, Randy, of Tulsa, Phyllis Ann Muns Maness and husband, Jackie, Dianna Lynn Davis and husband, Matthew, Harold Nean Varnell Muns JR, and Steven Michael Muns, all of Whitehorn Cove; ten grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Nean Varnell Muns SR, in 1999 and by both parents.
