Mary Sue was a servant of the people who elected her to office with the highest percent of votes ever recorded for the office of County Treasurer. She always managed to campaign door to door so she could personally meet the voters. Mary Sue enjoyed the interaction with people of all levels of society and lived her life as an example that each person is equally important as the next one. She was admired in her field statewide and was active in the Council of Officers and Deputies Association of Oklahoma and the County Treasurer's Association, as well as the Wagoner County Democratic Women. She was always supportive of Porter and the Peach Festival.
Mary Sue's great treasure was her family. She loved her children and grandchildren and spending time with them, and they will all miss her dearly. She departed this life late Thursday, December 8, 2016 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her precious boy, Gregory Bryan; her parents, John Henry and Elsie Mae Yochum; and three siblings, Peggy Lou Judkins, Billy Carl "Buddy" Yochum and Patsy Jo Wilson.
Survivors include her loving husband, Billy Ray Tedder of the home; her children and their spouses, Rusty and Ginger McCall of Muskogee, RaShae and David Dickey and Scott Tedder, all of Porter; a brother, Mike Yochum and wife, Paula of Porter; sister, Jacque Daniel and husband, Terry, of Muskogee; sister-in-law, Bertie Jo Yochum of Porter; eight grandchildren, Brandon, Jarrod, Stacy, Jonathan, Blake, Kaylan, Shaylan, and Mason; four great-grandchildren, Molly, Haley, Aiden, and Jackson; and numerous nieces, nephews; other relatives, and many friends.
The funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at the First Baptist Church in Porter. Officiating will be the Reverend Bobby Jenkins.
Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Porter. Pallbearers will be Brandon Wanner, Jarrod McCall, Jonathan McCall, David Dickey, Blake Dickey, Butch Daniel, Tony Tedder, and Taylor "Nathan" Bottoms. Honorary Pallbearers will be Johnny Hayes, Randy Stamps, Mark Amstead, Elmer Shepherd, Darrell Shepherd, Eric Johnson, Dennis Shook, Pat Boyd, Jackie Todd and Dustin Allen.
