Funeral services for Mary Watkins, 76, long time Wagoner resident will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at the Church of God in Wagoner with the Reverend Carl Murphy officiating. Mary was born February 14, 1935 in Rose, Oklahoma to her parents, Lyle Raymond and Eva (Bradshaw) Pofahl. She was raised in the Muskogee and Wagoner area and attended Okay Public School. On June 22, 1953 she was united in marriage to Kenneth Denny Watkins in Wagoner. They were married 42 years and raised their six children. Mary was a homemaker, a loving wife and a wonderful mother. She enjoyed country music, especially listening to her sons and grandchildren singing karaoke. She loved family gatherings and watching her grandchildren and great grandchildren play in and around the swimming pool during the summer months. And she never missed her Sunday morning preaching with Kenneth Haggee. Mary peacefully passed away Saturday, August 20, 2011 at the Wagoner Community Hospital. Mary was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Kenneth; her in-laws, Britt and Corda Watkins; Mary and Kenneth's oldest grandson, James Gregory Cruce of Arizona and her three brothers, Ervin, Paul and Bobby Pofahl. She is survived by her five sons, James David Cruce and Danny Watkins both of Wagoner, Kenneth Duane Watkins of Tahlequah, Bobby Watkins of Edmond and Darrell Watkins also of Wagoner; one daughter, Deborah Watkins Burgett of Wagoner; twenty two grandchildren; twenty nine great-grandchildren; two brothers, Raymond Pofahl of New Jersey and Tommy Pofahl of Muskogee; two sisters, Betty Atkison and Ann Davis both of Wagoner; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews; other family members and many friends who have loved her and will miss her greatly.
