IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Maxine
Garvin
December 11, 1928 – May 27, 2020
Maxine (Owens) Garvin was born December 11, 1928 at home in Scott County, near Waldron, Arkansas. She was the youngest of ten children born to George and Lily (Smith) Owens.
She graduated from Waldron High School in 1945. That summer she met the love of her life, Clyde M. Garvin. They were married that October, 1945, and began a married life together that spanned 66 years. It was a marriage full of love. Maxine's family recalls that she was a steadfast woman of God who always put her family first. Their lives are better because Maxine was their mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Maxine and Clyde were dedicated members of the First Baptist Church. The church and all of Wagoner are blessed that they made their home here. Their impact on this earth was positive, and they have left a legacy of faith and hope for the community, the church and most of all their loving family.
Maxine departed this life Wednesday morning, May 27, 2020 at Prairie House Assisted Living in Broken Arrow, OK at the age of 91 years. Welcoming her home were her husband, Clyde M. Garvin; her daughter, Kathy Diane Garvin; her parents, George and Lily Owens, and eight of her siblings.
Left to cherish her memory are her two sons and daughters-in-law, Randy and Pat Garvin of Broken Arrow, OK and Paul and Betsy Garvin of Lenexa, KS; one sister, Treva Leeper of Fort Smith, AR; her grandchildren and spouses, Angela and John Thomas of Hulbert, OK, Jennifer O'Stasik of Broken Arrow, OK, Chris and Kari Baesel of Prairie Village, KS and Chad Garvin of Tulsa, OK; great-grandchildren, Bailee Thomas, Brooke Thomas, Larkin O'Stasik, Heron Boyen, Oscar Baesel and Floyd Baesel; other extended family and friends.
