Michael Eugene Boyd was born September 26, 1950 to Dan and Margaret Boyd. Mike grew up in Porter, Oklahoma and graduated from Porter High School in 1968.   He furthered his education at Oklahoma State University, where he received an Associate Degree in Mechanical Engineering.  Mike was a Master Sergeant in the Army National Guard.  He served in the 345th Corps Support Battalion Camp Victory, Kuwait from March of 2003 to November 2003 during Operation Iraqi Freedom.  He received The Army Commendation Medal for providing the framework for an excellent logistical operation section that is and will continue to be the backbone of the Battalion S-4 Section.  He retired after 32 years of Service.

Mike had a passion for stock car racing.  He was the Owner of Boyd Performance Engineering where he devoted countless hours building and perfecting Race Cars for many of dirt track's finest drivers. Mike was a member of the Porter Church of Christ.

Mike was called home to be with his Lord and Savior early Sunday, January 7, 2018 at his home in Porter, Oklahoma.  He was preceded in death by his father, Dan Boyd, his paternal grandparents; Alva and Edith Boyd, and his maternal grandparents Alfred and Alice Marlnee.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years Gloria Gayle Boyd of the home; Three daughters and their spouses, Kelly and Andrew Theodore of Porter Oklahoma, Kasey and Jeff Marlow of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Kristie Read and fiancé Steven Little of Porter, Oklahoma; Eight grandchildren, Alexander, Andrew II, and Averie Theodore, Vincent and Victoria Marlow, Ivy and Maddox Read, and Escher Little due in February; his mother, Margaret Boyd of Porter, Oklahoma; brothers and their spouses, Pat and Jan Boyd of Porter, Oklahoma and Bill and Sandy Boyd of Porter, Oklahoma; sister and her spouse, Dana and Mike Grilley of Edmond, Oklahoma; an aunt and her spouse, Linda and Coy Armstrong of Porter, Oklahoma; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday January 10, 2018 at the Porter Church of Christ.  Officiating will be Mike Roberts.

Pallbearers will be Mike Withrow, Joey Hatfield, Bruce Heller, Lyndell Jamison, Ray Durrett, and Dan Rice.  Honorary pallbearer will be Ken McCollough.  Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Porter, Oklahoma.
