The memorial service for Michael Phillip Murphy, 59, of Wagoner will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 2, 2008 at the First Baptist Church in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, with the Reverend Mike Harris and the Reverend Robert Shaw officiating. Mike was born September 13, 1948 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to George and Eula Lee (McGee) Murphy. He was a 1966 graduate of Broken Arrow High School. Later that same year he was married to Deborah Sue Brooks in Jenks. Mike and Debbie lived and worked in the Tulsa area for many years. Mike was an installation and repair man for AT&T for several years until starting his own business, Telkey Communications in Tulsa, which he owned for 16 years until his retirement. Mike enjoyed the outdoors, woodworking and landscaping. He and Debbie moved to the lake area near Wagoner to enjoy boating and fishing with friends and neighbors. Mike Murphy passed away Saturday, June 28, 2008 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his parents and by his brother, Patrick Murphy. He is survived by his wife, Debbie Murphy of the home; two daughters, Brooke Murphy of Tulsa and Leslie Murphy of Broken Arrow; a granddaughter, Kendall Iams of Claremore; two sisters, Delores Creekmore of Jenks and Carolee Denton of Broken Arrow; a brother Ronnie Murphy of Coweta; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
