Miranda Nicole Rice was born September 15, 1993 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Charles Richard Rice and Christa Nicole (Rodgers) Rice. She grew up in Wagoner, attending Wagoner Public Schools and graduating from Wagoner High School with the class of 2012. Miranda was a bright young woman at the beginning of a future full of many paths and many opportunities she could choose. She was attending her freshman year at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Ok at the time of her death, Saturday, November 24, 2012 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Miranda was preceded in death by an aunt, Julie Garrison; her maternal grandfather, William Rodgers; her great-grandparents, Henry (Richard) and Ruth Ross, John and Margaret Rice, and Luther Wilford and Mary Ann Simpson; a second cousin, Melissa Evelyn Ross, and a great uncle, Leo David Simpson. She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends who are heartbroken in her passing. Survivors include her father and stepmother, Charles R. and Dawn Rice of Broken Arrow; her mother and stepfather, Niki and Aaron White of Owasso; paternal grandmother and step-grandfather, Wanda and Dee Willhite of Wagoner, paternal grandfather and step-grandmother, Charles E. and Aline Rice of Wagoner, and maternal grandmother, Vera Rodgers of Inola; her 'adopted' mother, Robin Young of Wagoner; Miranda's siblings, Mikey Williams, Cameron Rice, Christian Rice, Nicholas Williams and Sophia White; step siblings, Lance White, Darian Williams, Sadie Boos, Ryan Boos and Caleb Nichols; numerous other relatives and many friends. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, December 1, 2012 at the First Assembly of God Church, 1998 West Highway 51 in Wagoner, OK. The Reverend Lloyd Willhite and the Reverend Valerie Robinson will officiate. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery in Wagoner. Pallbearers will be Dylan Cannon, Max Kozak, Brett Young, Nic Ross, Lance DeVore and Kenneth Dildy. Miranda's brothers will serve as honorary pallbearers. They are Mikey Williams, Cameron Rice, Christian Rice and Nicholas Williams. Friends may call at Mallett Funeral Home on Friday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. for a visitation with the family. A memorial fund has been set up at Arvest Bank in Wagoner.
