The funeral service for Miriam Elizabeth (Cochran) Seal will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, June 2, 2018 at the First United Methodist Church, 308 Church Street, Wagoner, Oklahoma. The Reverend Gloria Denton will officiate.
Prior to the service, beginning at 9:00 am, friends and family may gather at the church for a visitation and viewing.
Following the service, interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery in Wagoner. Pallbearers will be John R. Seal, Lee DeGroot, John L. Seal, Keith Johnson, Bobby Short and Mark Kadar.
Miriam Elizabeth (Cochran) Seal was born to Jesse Edward Cochran and Carrie Lee (Dawson) Cochran in Avant, Oklahoma. She was employed as an administrative assistant at the Oklahoma School for the Blind in Muskogee, Oklahoma for approximately thirty years before retiring to her home in Wagoner, Oklahoma. Miriam attended the First United Methodist Church in Wagoner before moving to Grove, Oklahoma in 2011. She was a decades long member of Beta Sigma Phi in Muskogee, and while living in Wagoner was an active member of P.E.O.
Miriam departed this life Tuesday morning, May 29, 2018 at Integris Grove Hospital. She was preceded in death by both parents; two brothers, Maurice Cochran and Willard Cochran and a sister, Frances Ellen Cochran.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Barbara Seal and Mark Kadar of Newton, Massachusetts and their children, Tessa Kadar and Griffin Kadar; a son and daughter-in-law, John Seal and Beverly Seal of Moneta, Virginia and their children and their spouses, John and Meaghan Seal and Terry Seal and Stefan Wenninger; three nieces, Marilee (Cochran) Short and her husband, Bob Short of Grove, Oklahoma; Judy (Hicks) Baird and Martha (Hicks) Siever, both of Pryor, Oklahoma; a nephew, Donald Cochran and his wife, Carol Cochran of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; and other extended family and friends.
The family gratefully welcomes any donations to the Oklahoma School for the Blind (OSB, Attn: Student Accounts, 3300 Gibson Street, Muskogee, OK 74403. Please note "In Memory of Miriam Seal".)
