Mitchell DeWayne Murray was born July 8, 1967 in Stilwell, OK to Roy Murray and Jessie Dean (Whittington) Duffy. He attended schools in Wagoner and Oklahoma City. He owned a motorcycle for many years and also worked on older cars, especially his 1970 El Camino. By trade Mitchell was a tile layer and worked in construction.

Mitchell always liked outdoor activities. He dearly loved his family and always enjoyed cookouts and family dinners. Mitchell's babies were his dogs, Tish and Prudy. They even got to go with Mitchell to the lake and ride the Jet Ski with him. His favorite indoor activities included playing the drums and going to the casino.

Mitchell's home town for twenty-five years was in Chickasha, OK with his extended family, Barbara Ann Parkham and her son, Craig Parkham. For half the time Mitchell stayed in Tishomingo, OK, working and helping out on the ranch owned by Mr. Cain. The family gives a special thanks to Barbara, Craig and Mr. Cain for their friendship to Michael through the years.

Mitchell departed this life to be with the Lord on Monday, March 28 in Stilwell, OK at the age of 54 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy Murray and Jessie Dean (Whittington) Duffy; sisters, Eva Ray Murray and Julie May Mullins; brothers, Bobby Joe Murray, Tommy Lee Murray, Roy Edward Murray, Lorsey Murray and Jessie Murray; brother-in-law, Wayne Anderson and sisters-in-law, Dana Murray and Mary Alice Murray.

His loving family who survive him include sisters, Shirley Thayer and husband, Buddy, Linda Anderson, Betty Murray, Margie Murray and Josephine Murray; brothers, Billy Ray Murray, Ellis Leon Murray, Junior Murray, Leroy Murray, and Charles Murray and his wife, Christina; sisters-in-law, Phyllis Murray, Alice Marie Murray, Marilyn Watkins and Phyllis Kincade; many nieces and nephews and other extended family and friends.

The memorial service to celebrate Mitchell's life will be at 11 am Tuesday, April 5, 2022 at the First Baptist Church in Wagoner, OK. Officiating will be the Reverend Mark Pointer.
