The family was living in New Jersey when, on March 25, 1945, Nancy Tingle Woodson was born to Charles Sutton Woodson and Bernie Wilma Tingle Woodson. When Nancy was still a babe in arms the family, including older brother, Charles Sutton Woodson Jr, relocated to Tulsa, OK, where Nancy attended Edison High School, graduating with the Class of 1963.

Nancy loved animals from a very early age. When she was twelve she got her first horse, and from that time forward the care and maintenance of her beloved horses became the recipient of all her allowance money. There was not a time when horses were not a part of her life. Throughout her life Nancy was dedicated to the welfare of all animals. Nancy and Otto's Wagoner lake area home was the site of caring for horses, birds, deer, cats, dogs, fish and simply any living thing that needed Nancy's help and loving care.

In her early years Nancy and family moved to eight acres in Bixby, OK. It was Nancy's dream to live in the country. She loved living where her then eight years old daughter, Kathy, could ride her horse up to the back door if she desired. That dream was interrupted and threatened by extensive flood problems stemming from the Haikey Creek Basin. Nancy was told by numerous governmental entities that nothing could be done, and that it would get worse. Her determination to find a solution to the neighborhood's flooding problem was strong. Nancy was instrumental in organizing a meeting that resulted in a study by the Corps of Engineers for a channeling project. This started the ball rolling, and Nancy was ever vigilant until changes were made and the problem was resolved as she worked with the city council. She has been recognized for her role in the positive changes that were achieved. Just recently a tree was dedicated honoring her achievements. She was grateful for the many lifelong friends made during that time.

Nancy was living in Tulsa and running her business, the temporary legal staffing service called Bar Belles, when she met Otto Deacon. They were married September 10, 1997, and have shared a close and loving life together. They shared many wonderful memories of frequent trips to North Carolina to reconnect with Nancy's cousins and other family still there. She always looked forward to spending time on the beach.

Nancy departed this life Wednesday, November 28, 2018 in Muskogee, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by both of her parents.

Survivors include her husband, Otto David Deacon of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Katherine Kincaid Phillips and Greg Phillips of Tulsa, OK; three grandchildren, Claire Phillips of Los Angeles, CA, Evan Phillips of Arlington, TX and Aubrey Phillips of Seattle, WA; her brother and sister-in-law, Charles "Chuck" Sutton Woodson Jr. and Carolyn Woodson of Chouteau, OK; two nephews, Steven Woodson and Jim Woodson, both of Texas; her extended family and friends.
