Obituary

Funeral services for Nora Belle Watkins, 93, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma will be at 10:00 a.m., Monday, July 21, 2008 at the Mallett Funeral Home Chapel in Wagoner with the Reverend Richard Puckett officiating. Nora was born February 23, 1915 in Farmington, Arkansas to Lewis Franklin and Elizabeth Ann (Bowman) Upton. At an early age, her family moved to Oklahoma where Nora graduated from the Shady Grove School. She was married to Clyde A. Watkins July 16, 1933. Nora worked as a sales clerk at Ben Franklin Store and as a waitress for several years at Woody's Café in Broken Arrow. However her most important and rewarding work was as a homemaker for her family. She had a passion for crossword puzzles and enjoyed gardening and tending her flowers. Nora passed away Wednesday, July 16, 2008 at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa. Nora was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clyde in 1996; her daughter, Sandy Neal; her grandson, Jeffrey Lowery; her son-in-law, Odis Lowery; her sisters, Gladys, Becky, Susan, Angeline and Nancy and her brothers, Sam, John and Reuben. She is survived by her son, Truman Ray Watkins and his wife, Josephine of Coweta; her daughters, Carole Lowery and Patty Boucher both of Broken Arrow; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. Grandsons, who include Russ Watkins, Gary Watkins, Kurtis Boucher, Steven Swift II, Bryan Koehn and Kendall Ingram, will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Neal, Steven Swift and John Boucher.
