Norma Jean Ruzicka Smalley, 86, of Wagoner,Oklahoma, passed away on June 1, 2016 in Midlothian, Texas at the home of her daughter. Heaven received a beautiful angel and Jean will be missed by many. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm , Saturday, June 4 at Mallett Funeral Home in Wagoner, Oklahoma. A private burial will follow at Hulbert, Oklahoma. Jean was born in Oberlin, Kansas to Louis and Opal Harmon Ruzicka on August 21, 1929. She attended Decatur County High School and graduated in 1947. She attended Ft. Hays State College where she earned a teaching degree. Jean was a Worthy Matron and a beloved member of the Order of the Eastern Star of Wagoner, Chap. No. 34 for over 50 years. She also was an active member of the Rebekah Assembly of Oklahoma. She was a Noble Grand and supervised the kitchen and all activities that the organization sponsored. Jean is preceded in death by her husband, William (Bill) L. Smalley, her parents and her brother. Jean is survived by her children Carl Van Vleet and his wife Shelley of Tuscon, Arizona, Cheryl Jean Bobo of Midlothian, Texas. Stepchildren Mr. and Mrs. Richard Carnahan of Phoenix, Arizona and Mr. and Mrs. Pat Huckabee of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Grandma Smalley loved her 12 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild and 4 nieces.
