Obituary

Oma Richardson Potts was born December 1, 1928 in Ottawa County, OK to Arnold and Clara Richardson. She passed from this life on September 16, 2017 in Muskogee, OK at the age of 88 years. She was preceded in death by her husband Jim Potts, son Jerry England, brother Leonard Richardson, and parents Arnold and Clara Richardson.

Oma was known by many as "Ma", and she enjoyed spending time with her family in whom she took great pride. For the past seventy years, since the birth of daughter Retha, Oma's family has spanned five generations and has been blessed with a strong bond to tie them all together and to give them strength and love to see them through all of life's trials and celebrations. Through the years she helped babysit generations of grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking and will be especially remembered for her homemade noodles as well as her quick wit.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Retha and Danny Epperson of Okay, son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Karen England of Muskogee, and daughter and son-in-law, Mitzi and Robert Park of Okay; her grandchildren, Yvette, Tammy, Jeremy, Jessamy, Rob, Keli and Taylor; great-grandchildren, Ashley, Bali, Tito, Payton, Audrey, Jameson, Braylon, Railey, Kade and Alex; great great-grandchildren, Braxton, Abby, Avery, Samson and Clara; her sister and brother-in-law, Cheryl and Ronnie Cleveland of Miami, OK; her nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews; extended family and many friends.

Oma will be laid to rest with her husband, Jim Potts following a memorial service at 11 am Thursday, September 21, 2017 at Fort Gibson National Cemetery in Fort Gibson, OK. Officiate will be Roberta Burton. Vocalist will be Gary Hendrix.

Friends and family are invited to gather Thursday at the home of Danny and Retha Epperson, 4030 East 76th Street North in Okay following the graveside service.
