Opal Lee Betts was born May 31, 1945 in Turley, Oklahoma to William S. and Dorcas Evelyn (Medlin) Echols. For many years before retirement Opal was employed by Hilti Corporation in Broken Arrow, OK. She was a longtime Wagoner resident, and her family and many friends were very important to her. She loved to cook and attend family gatherings. Opal died early Sunday, October 17, 2010 at her home in Wagoner. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Adam Leroy Echols, and her son, Bob Betts, in April of this year. Survivors include her two grandchildren, Felisha Osburn and Kevin Osburn, both of Wagoner; sisters, Wilma Terry of Tulsa, Barbara Patchell of Arkansas and Lillie Mae Wheeler of Wagoner; a great grand-child, Kirsten Elise Osburn; other relatives, including great nephew Don Weaver and great niece Christian Fitzgerald, and friends. No service is planned at this time.
