Ora Faye (Elkins) Henderson was born March 6, 1930 in Coleman County, TX to Herman Alexander and Amelia (Bluemel) Elkins. She graduated from Buffalo High School in Coleman County. Faye was united in marriage to Bobbie Lee Henderson in Bisbee, AZ on Nov. 14, 1947, and they began a long, happy life together. In her early years she enjoyed her role of homemaker as they moved a number of times following Bobbie's career. She was a superb seamstress and sewed all of her family's clothing, and she always worked beautiful flowers beds around her home. While living in Muldrow, OK she attended beauty school. Later Faye and Bobbie settled in Mesquite, TX for twenty-seven years, where Faye worked as an accounting clerk for Oryx Energy until her retirement. In 1998 they moved to Ft. Gibson, OK to be near family, and Faye would become a member at the First Baptist Church of Muskogee, OK where she was active in her Sunday school classes. Faye passed away Thursday, Sept. 18, 2014 at the Health and Rehabilitation Center in Inola, OK. She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Amelia Elkins; her husband, Bobbie Lee Henderson and a son, Larry Henderson. She is survived by two sons, Ron Henderson and his wife, Judy, of Wagoner, OK and Jerry Henderson of Muskogee, OK; by her daughter-in-law, Paula Henderson, of Coweta, OK; grandchildren, Jenni Burns and husband, Chad, of Inola, OK, Matt Henderson and wife, Alis, of Kingston, R.I., and Josh Henderson and wife, Elizabeth, of Broken Arrow, OK; great grandchildren, Kaylee and Isaiah Burns of Inola, OK and Hannah and Bethany Henderson of Broken Arrow, OK; a sister, Patsy Medley of Lake Kiowa, TX; brothers, Merle Elkins and wife, Norma Kay, of Cloud Croft, N.M. and Melvin Elkins of Bisbee, AZ.; an aunt, Ruth Elkins, of Abilene, TX; a sister-in-law, Jane Bell of San Angelo, TX; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services for Faye Henderson will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at the Mallett Funeral Home Chapel in Wagoner, OK, with the Reverend Bill Crow and the Reverend Matt Henderson officiating. Pallbearers will be Ron Henderson, Jerry Henderson, Matt Henderson, Josh Henderson, Chad Burns, Don Morton, and Craig Medley. Honorary pallbearers will be James Arnette, Paul Chambers, and Randy Nichols. Interment will be in Pioneer Cemetery in Wagoner, OK. Mallett Funeral Home in Wagoner is in charge of arrangements.
