Patty Jean Friend was born July 1, 1930 in Wagoner, Oklahoma to Boyd Samuel and Velma (Winton) Harp. She was raised in Wagoner. Following her marriage to Warner William Friend, Patty lived in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Patty returned to make her home in Porter, Oklahoma in 1979.

Before retirement Patty was employed by Tulsa Public Schools and Coweta Public Schools. In her spare time she liked to crochet and raise a vegetable garden. Patty dearly loved all her pets, especially her dog, Buddy.

Patty departed this life Saturday, January 18, 2020 in Owasso, Oklahoma at the age of 89 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Warner William Friend, in 1975; her parents, Boyd and Velma Harp; a brother, Darrell "Sonny" Harp; a nephew, Dwight Harp, a great-great nephew, Rhett, and her beloved dog, Buddy.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Willa and Darrell Ludwick of Ramona, Oklahoma; four grandchildren and their spouses, Rebecca and Tom Pastrano of Norman, Oklahoma, LeaAnna and Aaron Zibell of Skiatook, Oklahoma, Thomas and Ashley Ludwick of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Karen Ludwick and Josh Goff of Tulsa, Oklahoma; great-grandchildren, Bryn Zibell, Addison Zibell, Jase Goff and Ehlena Ludwick; a number of nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.

Friends and family will gather at a graveside service, as Patty requested, to celebrate her life, at 2:00 pm Saturday, January 25, 2020 at Elmwood Cemetery in Wagoner, Oklahoma, where Patty will be laid to rest beside her husband, Warner.
