Paul D. Caywood was born December 6, 1919 in Hulbert, Oklahoma to Routh and Lavanda Caywood. He was a lifelong Hulbert area resident, living in the same house since 1925. He was well known and liked in all the surrounding communities where his work as a carpenter took him. All his life Paul really loved to farm and tend to his cows, and he liked to grow a food garden. Paul attended the Prairie View Pentecostal Holiness Church. Paul departed this life on Wednesday, March 10, 2010 in Tahlequah, OK, three months and three days past his 90th birthday celebration. He was preceded in death by wife, Lula Mae Caywood, in 2005, by an infant son, Paul Dale Caywood, a brother, Kenneth Caywood and a sister, Marie Rhodes. Survivors are his two daughters, Barbara Purget of Weatherford, TX and Donna Forrest and her husband, David, of Hulbert; his grandchildren, David and Audrey Purget of Salineville, OH, Denice and Steve Thom of Fort Worth, TX, Valerie and Josh Hudson of Tahlequah, J. P. Carter of Broken Arrow and Samantha and Matt Hendrickson of Tahlequah; great grandchildren, Rachel Purget and Ashley Purget, both of Salineville, and Lily Hudson of Tahlequah; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. The family and friends will gather at a Visitation Friday from 5 to 7 PM at Mallett Funeral Home in Wagoner, who is in charge of arrangements. The funeral service will be at 10 AM Saturday, March 13, 2010 at the Mallett Chapel. Interment will be in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Hulbert. Pallbearers will be Matt Hendrickson, J. P. Carter, Josh Hudson, Danny Hakes, Larry Rogers and Dewayne Rogers. Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Rhodes, Kermit Rhodes, Bob Duvall, George Gilbert and Lon Enkey.
