Obituary

Paul Dean Girdner was born April 28, 1944 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma to Enos Paul and Fern Virginia (Busby) Girdner. Dean graduated from high school and attended college. He served in the United States Army during the Viet Nam War, earning a Bronze Star in recognition of his service to his country.

Dean was a resident of the Cherokee County area all his life and an over the road truck driver. At the time of his death Dean was making his home in Hulbert, OK. In earlier years Dean loved to ride bulls and enjoyed motocross racing. In later years he liked riding motorcycles and mowing his yard.

Dean departed this life Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at the Northeastern Health System in Tahlequah, Oklahoma at the age of 72 years. His parents preceded him in death.

Survivors include two daughters, Denna Girdner and Jake Mayfield of Tahlequah, Oklahoma and Susan Weeks of Tahlequah, Oklahoma; one grandson, Zach Weeks of Tahlequah, Oklahoma; other relatives and friends.

The Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at the First Baptist Church in Hulbert, Oklahoma. The Reverend Glen Rowan will officiate. Pallbearers will be Zach Weeks, William Murray, Daylen Shaw, Jake Mayfield and Pat Newman.

Interment will be at noon at Ft. Gibson National Cemetery in Fort Gibson, Oklahoma.
