Obituary

Funeral services for Paul Messer, 89 of Wagoner will be at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, May 16 at the Mallett Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Carl Murphy officiating. Paul was born Sept. 26, 1923 in Beggs, OK to his parents, Mina and Kitty Mae Messer. He grew up and graduated Beggs High School before enlisting into the U.S. Army. Paul served his country during World War II as a Sergeant in the Asiatic Theatre. After the War, he moved to the Eugene, Oregon area. Paul and his wife, Opal moved to Wagoner in the 1980's and established Lake Region Property Real Estate where he was a real estate broker and appraiser for many years. He served his community as a 32nd degree Mason with Wagoner Masonic Lodge and as a Rotarian in the Wagoner Rotary Club. Paul passed away Sunday, May 12 at his home in Wagoner. Paul was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Carl Dean Messer; his sisters, Martha Mae Bonham and Mary Ruth Palmo and his wife, Opal. He is survived by his sons, Charles Paul Messer and wife, Sue Anne of Overland Park, Kansas and Gary Lynn Stephenson and wife, Beverly June of Tulsa; Grandchildren, Robert and Charles Cullen Stephenson, Corey Elaine Murteza and Shannon Lynn Stephenson; seven great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
