IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Philip Scott
Heffley
August 16, 1962 – March 19, 2022
Philip Scott Heffley was born August 16, 1962 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. Shortly after graduating from Pryor High School Scott enlisted in the United States Air Force, proudly serving his country for six years before his honorable discharge, with awards and ribbons for marksmanship, good conduct and longevity of service. While in the service Scott learned some German and liked to practice it when he was around someone who spoke it.
Scott was a gifted machinist who could fashion any kind of mechanism needed to solve a problem. He worked in the manufacturing industry and was a proficient tile setter. Later on Scott enjoyed helping his grandfather, Roy Center, with his auction business.
Scott was a dedicated father who loved spending time with his children as they were growing up. They will always cherish memories of the time spent with him. He loved being outdoors and fishing and encouraged his children to enjoy nature as well. He coached John in wrestling and worked with all three to teach life lessons he considered important, such as fitness, how to build things and survival skills.
Scott departed this life Saturday, March 19, 2022 in Wagoner, OK at the age of 59 years. His grandparents all preceded him in death.
Left to treasure his memory are his three children, Philip Heffley II, Nicole (Heffley) Evans and her husband, Josh and John Heffley, all of Wagoner, OK; his mother and father, Goldie Joann (Center) Heffley and Walter Henry "Buster" Heffley of Wagoner, OK; grandchildren, Austin Heffley, Olivia Evans and Kenlee Heffley; a sister, Christine Burke and her husband, Dennis; a brother, Jeff Heffley and his wife, Karen; other extended family and friends.
The service celebrating Scott's life will be held at 11 am on Friday, March 25 at Mallett Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating will be the Reverend Jeff Byrd.
Interment will take place at 11 am Monday, March 28 at Fort Gibson National Cemetery, Fort Gibson, Oklahoma. Military Honors will be provided by the United States Air Force Honors Team.
