Obituary

Reta (Jewett) Myers was born on August 13, 1937, to Claude Everett Jewett and Wilma Lucille (Hakes) Jewett in Hulbert, Oklahoma. She attended Hulbert Public School. She traveled all over the world. After moving back to Oklahoma, she met and married the love of her life, William "Bill" Myers. Their enduring friendship and love created many wonderful memories together until his passing in 2007.

Reta was a beloved figure in the Hulbert community, known for her kindness and generosity.  She had a creative side, enjoying cooking and crocheting, particularly making intricate doilies and tablecloths.  She devoted her time to serving the community by organizing events such as the senior tea and participated as a library board member.  Her involvement at the Senior Citizen Center helped her build lasting friendships, highlighting her compassion and dedication to those she cared for.

Reta departed this life on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, at the age of 87 years.  Preceding her in death are her parents, Claude and Wilma Jewett; husband, Bill Myers;  sister, Vera Thompson; and brothers, Charles Jewett and John Jewett.

Surviving Reta and cherishing the many fond memories of her life include her son, David Murallo; a sister, Deborah Lynn Huff, and husband Michael of Hulbert, OK; a niece, Kari Ortiz, and husband Miguel of Hulbert, OK; and many cousins that she loved dearly.

Reta will be fondly remembered for her significant impact on the many lives during her time here, and her absence will be deeply felt.

The family will greet friends at a Visitation on Monday, February 3, 2025, from 5-7 pm,  in the Chapel of Mallett Funeral Home, Wagoner, Oklahoma.

A Celebration of Life, honoring the life of Reta Myers will be held on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at 2:00 pm, in the Chapel of Mallett Funeral Home, Wagoner, Oklahoma, Pastor Ryan Yount will officiate.

Interment will follow in Hulbert Community Cemetery, where Reta will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband, Bill Myers.  Honorary pallbearers are Barney Manus, James Manus, Tom Ray, and Thomas Shannon.
