Obituary

Richard T. Lyons, 94, died Sunday, February 17 at his home near Roosevelt, Oklahoma.  He was born in Montpelier, Vermont on February 9, 1925, son of Andrew Jackson and Mary Agnes (Normandin) Lyons.

He graduated from St. Michael's High School and enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps in 1943. He completed pre-flight training at the University of Cincinnati and advanced training at several bases in Texas. He was stationed in England in 1951-52 and promoted to 1st Lt.  He was honorably discharged when the military had a reduction in force.  In 1945 he married Patricia Connor in San Antonio Texas and the couple had three sons, Michael, Richard and James.  She died unexpectedly at age 26.

In 1994 he married Patricia Williams and the couple moved from Fort Worth, Texas to Wagoner, Oklahoma where they resided until she died in 2010. Following her death Dick moved near Roosevelt to live with his stepson Keith Williams and wife Rene' on their ranch.

Following military service Lyons worked for General Dynamics in Texas for 19 years and later with Wal Mart for 16 years.

He is survived by his son, Michael of Greensboro North Carolina; stepson Keith Williams and his wife Rene', a brother Donald, of Montpelier Vermont and several grandchildren and great grandchildren in Texas and North Carolina.

Viewing will be 9:00 am - Noon on Saturday, February 23, 2019 at Mallett Funeral Home Chapel in Wagoner, Oklahoma.

Graveside services will be in the Bennett Addition of Elmwood Cemetery in Wagoner, Oklahoma on Saturday, February 23 at 1:00 p.m.
