Robert Lester Foutch, 93, lifelong Wagoner, resident, departed this life early Thursday, July 2, 2009. His funeral was at 10 AM Monday, July 6, 2009 at the First Christian Church in Wagoner. The Reverend Greg Smith officiated. His nephews and grand nephews served as pallbearers. Interment was in Pioneer Cemetery. Lester Foutch was born December 24, 1915 in Wagoner, OK to Willie and Effie Maude (Garren) Foutch. Lester graduated from Wagoner High School in 1934. He worked for a while as a sales clerk at the Wagoner Mercantile Co. and in the Wagoner County Clerk's office. During World War II Lester served in the U.S. Navy. Upon returning home he was employed in the Wagoner City Clerk's office for fourteen years and the First Bank & Trust Co. for twenty-one years before his retirement in 1980. For many years he served as a member of the Board of Directors of the First Bank & Trust. Lester was a very active member of the First Christian Church his entire life, serving in many capacities, including Sunday school teacher, Elder, Chairman of the Board and Treasurer. Lester is survived by a sister, Ruby Carter of Wagoner, a number of nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Earl Foutch and two sisters, Ola Williams and Margaret Rice.
