Robert Glynn Garrison, 69, passed away peacefully on April 9, 2025, after a courageous battle with Neuroendocrine Carcinoid Cancer. Rob displayed incredible courage and unwavering hope that was inspiring to everyone who knew him. Rob was born November 14, 1955, in Altus, Oklahoma to the late Glynn Robert Garrison and Norma Jean (McClure) Garrison.
Rob graduated from Aliceville High School, in Aliceville, Alabama class of 1974. Rob proudly served his country in the United States Army. In 1986, his duty station was Fort Stewart in Hinesville, Georgia and in 1990 he was stationed at Camp Stanley in South Korea during the Operation Desert Shield Campaign.
He was passionate about working as a heavy equipment mechanic, he enjoyed working on Caterpillars. He looked forward to spending time with his family and friends, the outdoors, playing dominos, college football, Kansas City Chiefs, 60-70's music, NASCAR, Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), and especially British television. He looked forward to going to auto-salvages, he called them his mall. He could spend hours tinkering with cars. He didn't enjoy reading much, but sure would spend hours reading the Bargain Post. He was also known for his kindness and wonderful sense of humor.
He was an active member of Abundant Grace Methodist Church in Wagoner, Oklahoma. Rob is preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
Rob is survived by his wife Terrie (Luellen) Garrison; son, Robert Dean Garrison of Lawrence, Kansas; daughter, Amanda (Garrison) Pratt of Wagoner, Oklahoma; and son, Michael Eugene Jones of North Port, Alabama. He was known as "Pop" to his grandchildren, Indy Garrison of Lawrence, Kansas, Ione Garrison of Lawrence, Kansas, Caleb Pratt of Jenks, Oklahoma, Austin Jones of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and Andrew Jones of Tuscaloosa, Alabama; brother, Gerald Garrison and wife, Kim of Muskogee, Oklahoma, brother, Greg Garrison of Muskogee, Oklahoma; brother-in-law, Mark Luellen and wife, Melissa of Auburn, Alabama; sister-in-law, Joannie Luellen of Lexington, North Carolina, sister-in-law, Julie Luellen of Glenpool, Oklahoma; numerous nieces, nephews, and Aunt, Claudia Adams of Shreveport, Louisiana. Rob's memory will forever live in the hearts of those who loved him.
A Memorial Service honoring the life of Robert Garrison will be held on Friday, April 18, 2025, at Abundant Grace Methodist Church, Wagoner, Oklahoma, at 10:00 am. Reverend Steve Harshaw will officiate.
Interment will follow at Fort Gibson National Cemetery with the Army Funeral Honors Team.
