Roberta Lee "Birdie" (Garrison) Appleton was born April 27, 1948 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Robert L. Garrison and Bernice Emily (Wescott) Garrison Carr. Birdie married Jerry Lee "Sonny" Appleton on February 17, 1983 in Miami, Oklahoma. She was a homemaker.

Birdie departed this life on Wednesday, September 29, 2021 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Sonny Appleton; and one sister, Pam.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Brian Thomas; daughter, Mary Ann Robertson; grandchildren and their spouses, Kayla and Michael Troxel, Raymond Scroggins Jr., Ryan Thomas, and DeAnna and Dustin Ray; great-grandchildren, Arianna Atkins, Jaxon Troxel, Lexi Troxel, Chase Troxel, and Luke, Anthony, Autumn, Payton, and Katelynne Ray; brother, Jimmy Garrison, sister, Mary Ellen Boman; other relatives and friends.

A family memorial service will be planned at a later date.
