Ronald Murlin Dixon was born on August 23, 1946, to Oliver Murlin Dixon and Olive Marie (Dayton) Dixon in Tyler, Texas. He departed this life on December 26, 2025, at Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of 79 years.
Ronald attended Britton Elementary School in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and later graduated from Okay High School in 1965. At the age of 16, he met Alice Carter and knew from that day that she would be his wife. Following his graduation, Ronald enlisted in the United States Air Force. He was stationed in Abilene, Texas, and later in the Philippines before being deployed to Vietnam from 1968 to 1969. During his service, he was a member of the Air Rescue and Recovery Unit at Tuy Hoa Air Base.
After his honorable discharge in March of 1969, Ronald returned home and married his high school sweetheart, Alice Carter, in May of 1969. They shared 56 years of marriage together.
Ronald was employed as an Electro Prep Operator with Midwest Carbine in Pryor, where he worked faithfully for 37 years.
In 1983, he reenlisted in the Air Force National Guard and proudly served until his retirement as a Master Sergeant in 1998.
As a teenager, Ronald loved growing up around the lake, where he enjoyed fishing, swimming, and water skiing.
He was a devoted and loving husband and father, always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Oliver Murlin Dixon and Olive Marie Dixon.
Ronald is survived by his loving wife, Alice Ellen Dixon of the home; his daughters, Holly Cromwell and husband Doug of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, and Amy North of Tahlequah, Oklahoma; his five grandsons, Michael Cromwell of Durham, North Carolina, Bret Cromwell of Bixby, Oklahoma, Jackson Cromwell of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Hunter North of Tahlequah, Oklahoma, and Fisher and Mason North of Tahlequah, Oklahoma; and four great-grandchildren.
A Viewing/Visitation will be held on Friday, January 2, 2026, from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm in the Chapel of Mallett Funeral Home.
A Private Family Interment will be held at Fort Gibson National Cemetery in Fort Gibson, Oklahoma.
