Obituary

Roy Lee Williams was born August 6, 1934, just outside of Wagoner, Oklahoma, to Curtis and Ola (Foutch) Williams, who precede him in death. As a kid Roy attended the "Red Brickhouse School" just south of town of Highway 16. At the age 13, during the "War" got his first job driving a hay truck for the Brown Dunkin Farm. His dad instilled a strong work ethic in Roy that held true his entire life, and which he was sure to pass on to his kids. He and his brother, David, ran a favorite car wash in town for 47 years, with David next door at Amity TV for 48 years, and Roy running his full service station for 43 years right beside him, the two provided needed and appreciated services to the community for several generations.

In his spare time, Roy performed excellent woodworking skills. Many people are glad to have the crosses he crafted and gifted to them. Additionally, Roy was interested in photography and earned his pilot license. He was known to say he didn't like the flying as much as he loved the taking off and landing.

Roy had been attending the First Baptist Church in Wagoner, and he particularly enjoyed his Sunday school class. On a regular basis he enjoyed breakfast on Friday and Saturday mornings at Main Street Cafe with his comrades.

As a lifelong Wagoner resident Roy was well known and very well-liked by all who knew him. His absence in the community will be noticed, but the great memories of Roy will comfort his family and friends in times to come.

Roy departed this life Sunday, July 10, 2016. His loving family include his special friend of fourteen years, Jean Ann Willey of Wagoner, Oklahoma; two sons, Danny Roy Williams and his wife, Carla, of Sand Springs, Oklahoma and Christopher Edward Williams and his wife, Terri, of Bixby, Oklahoma; his daughter, Caroline (Williams) Jones and Carl Hargraves of Seabrook, Texas; grandchildren, Shawna, Kyle, Jared, Christopher, Rachael, and Ben; great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Xavier, Presley, Beckett, Tyler, Rachael, and Jaxon; his brother, David Williams, and his family; other relatives; and many friends.
