Ruby Opal Boyd was born May 24, 1920 in Hulbert, Oklahoma to Marshall and Mona (Smith) Manes. She and her husband, Robert A. Boyd, made their home in Tulsa, Ok for many years before moving to Wagoner, OK in the 1970's. Ruby married Bob Boyd on November 11, 1942, and they were married for 64 years until his death in 2007. Their only son, Ron Boyd was born September 13, 1962. Before retirement Ruby worked as an automatic printing machine operator at Enterprise School Photos in Tulsa for thirteen years. Her family remembers her best for her wonderful homemaking skills. She was a wonderful cook and gardener and always had a bountiful vegetable garden. Ruby enjoyed her life and her family. She was not known to complain and maintained her independence as long as possible. She was grateful for all life had to offer. Ruby departed this life Monday, October 5, 2015 at Tulsa, OK. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert A. Boyd; her parents; a sister, Opaline Collins, and a brother, Richard Manes. Survivors include her son, Ronald "Ron" Boyd of Tulsa; a sister, Marian Pelt of Tulsa, OK; brother, M. C. Manes of Sand Springs, OK, and sister, Christine Moore of Okmulgee, OK; several nieces and nephews; friends, including two dear friends, Holly Harrison, who was like a daughter, and Holly's mother, Ginger Wright. A graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, October 9, 2015 at Tahlequah City Cemetery, Tahlequah, OK. Mr. Brad Randall will officiate. Arrangements are by Mallett Funeral Home in Wagoner.
