IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Ruby Chrysteen
Hargis
September 12, 1927 – January 30, 2017
Ruby Chrysteen Hargis was born September 12, 1927 in Wynne, Arkansas to Wesley and Velma (Fields) Bostic. She graduated from Wynne High School and soon married Jack Hargis on July 13, 1946. They enjoyed a long and happy life together for fifty years before his passing on March 15, 1996. The family lived in Stuttgart, Arkansas before relocating to Wagoner, Oklahoma, where Ruby made her home until just a few years ago. She was an avid gardener, of both flowers and vegetables, which she generously shared with others. She was known to be a wonderful cook, and was always wanting to care for the less fortunate. For five years she lived independently at the Carriage Crossing, enjoying many activities and making good friends. Ruby liked to shop for new clothes and loved to play bingo, which she was particularly lucky playing. Ruby's last home was at Park Edge Nursing Home in Tulsa. She had the nickname of "Roadrunner" for the way she would move around the facility.
Ruby departed this life Monday, January 30, 2017 at Parks Edge Nursing Home. She was preceded in death by both parents, Wesley and Velma Bostic; her first husband, Jack Hargis; second husband, Gary Callahan; and all her siblings.
Survivors include her daughter, Carol Hargis of Tulsa, OK, and her fiancé, Michael Kirsch; her son and daughter-in-law, Don and Beverly Hargis of Broken Arrow, OK; grandchildren, Keith McCann, Eric Stacey and wife, Amy, Miranda Burcham and husband, Stephen, Julie Bacinett and husband, Bo and Brittney Costello and husband, Sean; fifteen great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
