The funeral service for Ruby Thurman, long time Fort Smith resident, will be at 10:00 am Saturday, June 8, at the Cornerstone Community Nazarene Church in Wagoner, OK.

A visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 pm Friday at Mallett Funeral Home, 417 East Cherokee Street, Wagoner, OK.

The committal service and interment will be at 11:00 am Monday, June 10, where Ruby will be laid to rest with her husband, Lloyd Kenneth Thurman, at Fort Smith National Cemetery. Ruby was born May 28, 1927 in Boles, AR to John and Loda Wilson. She made Ft. Smith her home for 65 years and was employed at the Wortz Cracker and Cookie Company.

Ruby departed this life at the age of 92 years on Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at home in Wagoner, OK, where she resided for two and a half years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Thurman, in 1968; also by her parents, a son-in-law, Chad Brown, four sisters and one brother.

Survivors include three children, Patsy Brown and Gerry Thurman, both of Wagoner, OK and Kenneth Thurman and his wife, Judi, of Doylestown, Ohio; eight grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; one great great-granddaughter; other relatives and friends.
