Ruth Laverne Ladd was born November 11, 1933 in the Vann's Lake Community of Tullahassee, OK to Gladys (Tibbs) and Lawrence Crockett Robertson. After graduation from Porter High School Ruth furthered her education at Draughn's School of Business in Tulsa to prepare for a career as a legal and executive secretary. She moved to Bartlesville after completing her training. Through the years Ruth was employed in the legal profession and for Cities Service. Her last employment was at Coburn Optical as executive secretary.

On December 6, 1953 Ruth married Bill Louis Ladd. They had a wonderful life together until his death on August 10, 2004. In 1970 they moved to Tulsa from Bartlesville. They moved to Porter in 1986 where they were members of the First Baptist Church.

Ruth's family remembers her as an excellent business woman, but also a woman who was devoted to her husband, sons, and grandchildren. They remember what a good homemaker she was and a great hostess in her home. She was a rule follower and made sure her sons were shown the proper way to do things. They feel blessed to have had a happy childhood with parents who were dedicated to their family life. Ruth loved to visit with family and friends, with the emphasis on visiting, not simply talking.

Ruth passed from this life Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at the OSU Medical Center in Tulsa, OK just a month before her 84th birthday. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Ladd; her parents, Lawrence and Gladys Robertson and a brother and sister-in-law, Norman and Delois Robertson.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, son Bob and Jana Ladd of Lombard, Illinois and their children, Matthew and Shayla, Laura and Todd, Chas and Kathryn, Cory, and Abby and Ryan; and son Mike and Vicki Ladd of Athens, Alabama and their children, Ashley and Adam and wife Chelsea; five great-grandchildren; and many extended family members and friends.

Interment was Thursday at Greenwood Cemetery in Porter. The Reverend Dennis Piearcy officiated.

A memorial service to celebrate a life well lived is planned for 1:30 pm Saturday, January 20, 2018 at the First Baptist Church in Porter, OK.
