Sammy Risenhoover, 72, of Wagoner, OK, passed away February 10, 2017, surrounded by his family. He went to be with his parents, Sam and Martha (Cooper) Risenhoover, three sisters, on brother, and friends.

Sammy was born June 5, 1944 in Fort Gibson, OK. He was the owner of S & L. Auto Sales in Wagoner, OK for over 30 years. He would proudly say his was the oldest car lot in Wagoner. He was better known by friends as "Uncle Sam" and by his grandkids and close friends as "Goob". He loved spending time with his family and friends.

A favorite pastime of Sammy's was going to the races. Sammy enjoyed numerous racing trips with his grandson, Samuel, along with many of his dear friends. Sammy was a loving and kind husband to Carolyn, his wife of 38 years. During those 38 years they enjoyed trips together, numerous adventures, and lots of good times filled with laughter. Sammy and Carolyn had one son, Tom Bell, and his family of Wagoner.

Sammy leaves behind his wife, Carolyn Risenhoover of the home in Wagoner, OK; his son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Aubree Bell of Wagoner, OK; several grandchildren, one brother, Jimmy and wife, Elaine pf Oktaha, OK; three sisters, Pat and husband, John Hollingshed, Sandra and husband Kenneth Hopkins, all of Muskogee, OK, and Shelia and husband, Lonnie Haughey of Warner, OK; many dear friends; and last but not least, the two family dogs, Pete and Star, whom Sammy loved dearly.

The funeral service will be held Thursday, February 16, 2017 at the First Assembly of God in Wagoner at 2 p.m. Family has requested jeans for the service.

Interment will follow at the Hulbert Community (I.O.O.F.) Cemetery in Hulbert, OK.
