Samuel Rex Marrs III was born October 12, 1942 in Moody, Texas to Marie (Boren) and Samuel Rex Marrs Jr. He was a graduate of Wagoner High School and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He worked forty years as a mechanic, for Caterpiller and on oil field equipment and power generators.

Samuel departed this life Saturday, November 17, 2018 at his home in Hulbert, OK, at the age of 76 years. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife of fifty years, Virginia Jualice (Smith) Marrs.

His family remember him as the "best guy" ever known. He loved Nascar and liked to watch Walking Dead. He was the biggest Boomer-Sooner and Dallas Cowboys fan around.

Survivors include his sons, Russell Marrs of Hulbert, OK and Michael Marrs of Lost City, OK; grandchildren, Brittanie Raper and Coty Marrs of Hulbert, OK, Megan Marrs and Michael Marrs; many great-grandchildren; his brothers, Michael, Robert and Richard Marrs; a sister, Mary Revill; cousins, Chris and Joe Butler and Laurie, Timmy and Tony Smith; extended family and friends.

Following cremation, a memorial service will be planned at a later date.
