Obituary

Shawn Ray Brackett Sr. Was born on July 20, 1984, to Rickie Brackett and Belinda Kay (Lemley) Brackett, in Claremore, Oklahoma.  He departed this life on Friday, July 18, 2025, at Northeastern Health System in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, at the age of 40 years.  He was raised and developed his early years in Porter, Oklahoma, attending Porter Public Schools.  Shawn married the love of his life, Nevaeh Rayne Tarkington, on August 17, 2022, creating many memories together.

Shawn was a dedicated outdoorsman with a passion for hunting and fishing, exemplifying his love for nature and the thrill of adventure.  Shawn was known to be quite the jokester and enjoyed a good laugh, even if it was at the expense of another.  Although he had many passions and hobbies, there was none that matched that of his family. Everyone who had the honor of knowing Shawn knew his family was everything to him, especially his children and grandchildren.  His children knew they could call on Shawn for anything big or small; they even recalled having him door-dash McDonald's at midnight on different occasions.

Shawn is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Gene (Papa) and Mary (Nanny) Lemley; paternal grandparents, Jess and Mary Brackett; his uncles, Jess and Jimmy Brackett, his aunt Nita McCain; his cousin, Justin Drywater; and his second wife, Michelle Brown.

Those left to cherish the many memories of his life include his beloved wife, Nevaeh Brackett of the home; his children, Little Shawn (bub) Brackett (Hayzie Camp), Bryanna Brackett, Chloe Cole, Chelsie Brackett, Carleigh Brackett, Andrew Wells, Wyatt Cole, Bailey Brackett, and Aurora Brackett; his grandchildren, Haven Brackett, Rickie Brackett, Christopher Brackett, and Alena Ford; his parents; Rickie and Belinda Brackett of Porter, OK; his siblings, Gina Brackett of Porter, OK, Rickey (Samantha) Brackett of Langley, OK; his nieces and nephews, Noah Brackett, Delilah Brackett, and Elijah Brackett; his cousins, Jason Cole of Fort Gibson, OK, Stacy Howard of Coweta, OK, and Chris Brackett of Wagoner, OK; his aunts, Karrie Oden of Porter, OK, and Betty (Mike) Stockton of Porter, OK; his best friend, often referred to as his brother, Drew (Kristin) Harris; numerous other relatives and friends all who will miss him greatly.

The passing of Shawn leaves a profound void, but his enduring legacy will live on through the cherished memories of his family.
