Sherri Lea (Lancaster) Carter was born November 2, 1957 in Wagoner, OK to Robert Gerald and Shirley Marie (Harvey) Lancaster. After graduation from Wagoner High School Sherri attended college. She worked for the Wagoner County Abstract Office and the Wagoner District Court Clerk Office. In her spare time Sherri enjoyed scrapbooking and decorating. Her family remembers how she was a gifted decorator. Sherri's family was foremost in her life, and she will be greatly missed by them.

Sherri departed this life Sunday, July 25, 2021 at her home in Wagoner, OK at the age of 63 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gerald and Shirley Lancaster; two daughters, Lindsay Marie Dumond and Magen Lee Dumond and a brother Jerry Ray Lancaster.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Clifton Clell "Cliff" Carter of the home; children, Jordan Hawkins and husband, Clay of Broken Arrow, OK; Jerrod Dumond and wife, Christy of Theodore, AL and Claudia Cheyenne Carter and Jeff Martin of Tahlequah, OK; grandchildren, Morgan Dumond, Vanessa Hawkins, Keaton Nicholls, Taelyr Dumond and Gavin Hawkins; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Viewing will be on Wednesday, July 28th from 10 a.m. - 7 p.m. at Mallett Funeral Home in Wagoner.

The funeral service will be on Thursday, July 29, 2021 at 10 a.m. at Mallett Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow at Elmwood Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Cliff Carter, Jerrod Dumond, Clay Hawkins, Jeff Martin, Morgan Dumond and Keaton Nicholls.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or the Children's Shriner Hospital.
