Sherri Lynn Cleland, of the Toppers area of Wagoner, Oklahoma, departed this life on June 16, 2022 at the age of 59 years, with her family by her side. Sherri was born in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma on the 10th of June 1963. She completed her education with a Bachelor's degree.

Sherri was a Toppers Volunteer Fire Fighter for 13 years, following in the footsteps of her father, Wagoner Fire Chief Kenneth Cleland. She worked at the paper mills in Muskogee, Oklahoma and Tulsa and was currently employed at the Sofidel Paper Mill in Inola, Oklahoma.

Other than her children, Sherri's most loved things were her animals which included 28 goats, 9 chickens, 3 dogs and 2 horses. Most of her friends knew her as the Goat Lady.

When Sherri was not with her goats, her favorite place to be was the beach. She loved walking in the water and feeling the sand under her feet.

She will be greatly missed by many friends and family. They will fondly remember how she lived her life under Sherri's law. The normal rules did not apply to Sherri, but everyone who worked with her knew she had lots of knowledge. One of her favorite sayings was "I just know things".

Sherri is survived by her husband, Jim L. Atkins of Wagoner, Oklahoma; children, Jimmy Wheeler and wife Danielle of Wagoner, Oklahoma, Joshua Wheeler and wife Amanda, Daison Cooley and wife April of Wagoner, Oklahoma, Devan Cooley of Lafayette, Louisiana, Shane Wheeler of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, Heath Wheeler of Decatur, Alabama and Amber Wheeler of Joplin, Missouri; brother, Kenneth B. Cleland and wife Melissa of Clarksville, Tennessee; step mother, Carol Cleland of Wagoner, Oklahoma; granddaughters, Haley and Taylor Wheeler of Muskogee, Oklahoma; grandson Conner Cooley of Wagoner, Oklahoma; many friends and associates from everywhere she went.

Sherri was preceded in death by her mother Sharon L. Cooper Cleland and her father, Kenneth Cleland.

The Memorial Service will be held at the Wagoner Church of God, 115 S. State St., Wagoner, Oklahoma, at 10 in the morning on the 25th of June 2022.
