Sherry Sue Hansen was born March 30, 1960 in Council Bluffs, Iowa to James L. "Jim" and Sandra Rojean (Sawyer) Hansen. She grew up in Iowa and earned an Associate degree in Business. She served on the police reserves in Atlantic, Iowa.

Sherry served twenty years in the U.S. Army Reserves and was called up to serve in Desert Storm. She was released from active duty in 1991 with the rank of Sergeant. Her family is very proud of her service.

For many years Sherry was employed by Kum and Go as a District Manager, a position that suited her well because of her enjoyment of people and education in business. In her spare time Sherry liked reading and caring for her beloved cats. Her love for cats was expressed as well in her collection of cat statues.

Sherry departed this life Sunday, October 18, 2020 at the Jack C. Montgomery VA Medical Center in Muskogee, OK at the age of 60 years. She was preceded in death by her father, Jim Hansen.

Survivors include her mother, Sandra Hansen; two brothers, Jeff Jansen and Mark Hansen; her niece and nephews, other extended family and friends.

Sherry will be laid to rest on Friday morning, October 23, 2020 in the Fort Gibson National Cemetery, Fort Gibson, Oklahoma. Military Rites will be provided by the U.S. Army Honors Team.
