Shirley Ann (Cole) Dean was born September 13, 1940 in Haskell, OK, one of nine children born to Cecil and Bertha Lenora (Davenport) Cole. She departed this life on Thursday, April 18, 2024 at her home in Coweta, OK. She was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Bertha Cole; her husband, J.T. Dean; a daughter, Karen Renae Moss; and two brothers, Doyle Cole and Robert Cole.

Shirley loved to travel and was always ready to go whenever the chance arose. She was widely traveled and had visited all over the United States, Spain, and Mexico. At home she enjoyed flower gardening, especially her irises, and sewing and quilting. She loved to square dance.

Shirley's family will remember her enjoyment of life. Those who remain to cherish her memory include her four children and their spouses, Debbie Hursh of Tulsa, OK, Carolyn Potts of Broken Arrow, OK, Kenneth and Darla Forbes of Coweta, OK, and Charlotte and Johnny Kerr of Coweta, OK; her grandchildren and their spouses, Amanda and Luke Cooper of Tulsa, OK, Ashley and Michael Hoffman of Catoosa, OK, Kyle and Sunny Kerr of Coweta, OK, Rachel Sharpe of Broken Arrow, OK, and Harley Hursh of Tulsa, OK; great-grandchildren, Taylor, Waylon, Logan, Tanner, Jackson, Hailey, and Olivia; siblings, Arlene Mathews of Coweta, OK, Bill Cole of Haskell, OK, Norman Cole of Haskell, OK, Karen and husband, Ramero Antu of Haskell, OK, Doris Cole of Coweta, OK, and Everett and wife, Linda Cole of Haskell, OK; numerous nieces and nephews; her ex-husband, Francis Jones; other extended family and friends.

A memorial service celebrating her life will be held on Friday, April 26, 2024 at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Mallett Funeral Home and Crematory.
